It's Groundhog Day!

Groundhog Day has always been one of my favorite holidays. Not only does it mark the halfway point between the first day of winter and the first day of spring, it is also my mother's birthday! My mother and her sister were born on the same day, two years apart, so it was a double remembrance while I was growing up. They've both been dead for many years now, but I still remember them both every Groundhog Day.

Provo Percy, the groundhog that lives at my house, predicts six more weeks of winter. The sky is blue this morning (no haze) and the sun is bright! I was able to get the above photo just before he disappeared back down into his cozy bedroom.
